Despite this, for too many Canadians such things are unobtainable luxuries rather than basic necessities of life. Who or What is the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres? The Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres advocates at many levels and on many issues to help people gain access to the basic supports - including shelter and food - they need to reach their full potential. We work with the citizens we serve to develop strong and healthy communities across Ottawa. And building such quality communities should be everyone's concern - after all, our communities are where we live, work and play. But what are our elected officials doing? Municipal and provincial elections will be held this year. Now is the time to ask hard questions of our elected officials. Now is the time to demonstrate to our governments that we expect them to help the most vulnerable in our society. Now is the time for our governments to ensure that all available funding is used to the best advantage of those most in need. Advocacy is everyone's concern-now more than ever.
