WHAT
ARE MILLENNIUM LEARNING CENTRES?
Millennium
Learning Centres (MLCs) are small community-access centres where people
can learn to use computers and the Internet at their own pace and in a
supportive atmosphere. MLC volunteers deliver orientation sessions, provide
one-on-one help to users, and offer workshops.
Most MLCs are located in, or run by, community health and resource centres.
Ottawa has 20 Millennium Learning Centres.
To find your nearest centre, call the City of Ottawa information line
at 580-2400.
Help
for Job Seekers
All
Millennium Learning Centres offer resources and assistance to job seekers,
including:
- telephones
for calling potential employers;
- photocopiers
for copying resumes and other work-related documents; and
- fax
machines for sending job applications.
Millennium
Learning Centre volunteers are also available to help job seekers create
and submit resumes electronically, and to search for work online. Job
seekers also have access to newspapers, job boards and other employment
resources.
Funding Partnerships

from the Industry Canada Community Access Program (CAP), the Office of
Learning Technologies of Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC), and
